MSc Quantum Information Science & Technology (QIST)

Quantum Information Science and Technology encompasses the understanding, design, construction and investigation of quantum information processing systems, such as quantum computers, quantum communication networks, and quantum sensors. The objective of the MSc programme Quantum Information Science & Technology is to provide its students with in-depth and combined knowledge from the four disciplines (quantum) physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, and computer science in order to enable them to stay at the forefront of fundamental knowledge of quantum technology and develop practical applications in the field.

This MSc programme is designed for students with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Astronomy.

The Master’s programme in Quantum Information Science & Technology is a cooperation between two Dutch universities:

QuTech Academy Programme

QuTech Academy educates the quantum engineers of the future! We offer a state-of-the-art programme at the TU Delft (Delft University of Technology) that gives you all the tools you need to take part in the global quantum technology effort.

Do you want to take part in building the quantum future? The QuTech Academy programme offers excellent education at one of the top engineering and technology universities and involvement in world-leading research. Our growing ecosystem and connections with partner institutes and businesses all over the world show our commitment to real-world applications and provide a vibrant community of quantum experts and visionaries. Given excellent performance during the programme, continuation of your studies as PhD candidate at QuTech may be possible.

The QuTech Academy programme starts in September and consists of seven courses in year 1, followed by the possibility to do a master’s project at QuTech in year 2. In addition to the seven QuTech Academy courses, you will take a number of classes that will provide a broad basis in applied physics, electrical engineering, or computer science depending on your choice of MSc.
