1. What is the QuTech Scholarship?
The QuTech Scholarship supports talented international students pursuing a Master’s in quantum technology at TU Delft. It covers full tuition and offers a contribution toward living expenses for two years, the duration of a MSc program.
2. Who is eligible to apply?
Eligibility is for excellent international students with a high cumulative grade average (3.2/4 or 80%) accepted into certain MSc programs at TU Delft (Faculty of Applied Sciences or Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science):
- Applied Physics
- Computer Science
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Embedded Systems
- Quantum Information Science & Technology
3. What does the scholarship cover?
It includes full MSc tuition fees and a living expense contribution, for up to two years, the duration of a MSc program.
4. How can I apply?
TU Delft uses the website Studielink to manage applications. The entire application procedure is explained in detail in TU Delft applications with the international diploma website. Complete the online application form for the MSc program at TU Delft by December 1st 2024, and indicate your interest in the QuTech Scholarship. Include the QuTech Scholarship application form and a motivation letter.
Mind that TU Delft requires an application fee of €100 for international applicants.
Applications sent to the QuTech Academy email are not valid.
5. When is the application deadline?
Applications close on December 1st 2024; be sure to complete all required steps by then.
6. How are recipients selected?
Selection is merit-based with a high cumulative GPA (3.2/4 or 80%), focusing on academic excellence and motivation for quantum technology. Applicants from underrepresented groups are encouraged.
7. When will I know if I’ve been awarded the scholarship?
Selected recipients will be notified by April 2025.
8. Can I reapply if I don’t receive the scholarship?
Yes, if you reapply to the MSc program and still meet the eligibility criteria.
9. Can I apply for other scholarships at the same time?
Yes, but ensure you meet the conditions for all funding sources.
10. Do I need a language certificate?
Yes, non-native English speakers may need to provide proof of English proficiency, typically through a recognized language certificate such as IELTS or TOEFL, as part of the application to TU Delft’s MSc program. Specific requirements can vary, so refer to TU Delft’s language proficiency guidelines.
You are exempt from the English test requirement if you are a:
- national citizen of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or U.S.A.
- an applicant who obtained a bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned countries.

11. Does this scholarship apply to those applying for Bachelor’s programs?
No, the QuTech Scholarship is exclusively for international students applying to Master’s programs at TU Delft within the QuTech Academy track. It does not cover Bachelor’s programs.
12. How can I waive the application fee?
Unfortunately, the application for this scholarship does not come with a means for waiving the 100€ application fee in place by TU Delft.
