TU DELFT & STUDENT HOUSING
About 27.000 people study and work at the TU Delft campus: students, scientists, visitors, and employees of the university and the companies on campus.
Extending over 395 acres, the campus is larger than downtown Delft, and one of the largest university campuses in the world. The campus is set up as a recreational park and is equipped with an extensive bicycle and pedestrian road network. Large parts of the campus are only accessible on foot, by bike or by public transport.
TU Delft is well presented in several international rankings comparing universities all over the world. In 2016, TU Delft reached the 59th place in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking, rising from 65th in 2015 and 71st in 2014. In the QS Ranking, TU Delft rose from place 64 to 62 in 2016.
Student housing
TU Delft partners with various housing agencies in the greater Delft region to offer international students help in finding accommodation. BSc and MSc students are offered one-year contracts for an entire academic year (mid-August to mid-August). MSc students may decide to prolong their contracts for one extra year.
You can arrange for accommodation in the Netherlands either through help provided by TU Delft or by yourself. Please be aware that most university cities in The Netherlands have a shortage in good student accommodation. We strongly advise to make use of TU Delft’s help, to improve your chances of an available room upon your arrival in Delft.
